We love getting involved in our community. This year, we are partnering with local elementary schools to help fundraise for their school programs—and we're having a lot of fun while we do it! 😊
Today we packed up 2,000 spooky popcorn kits and sent them to all our partnering elementary schools. Every student will get to take home a fun healthy and spooky snack to enjoy!
So what makes our popcorn "spooky"?
There are vegetables (kale and cabbage) hidden among this delicious and flavorful Spooky Salt. 🙀 What?! Vegetables hiding in my popcorn? Soooo spoooky! 👻😉
Want to try it yourself? Check out the recipe below!
Spoooky Popcorn Kit Instructions
½ cup popcorn kernels
butter or coconut oil, melted, to taste
Spoooky Salt ingredients:
2 tsp nutritional yeast
1/2 tsp organic kale powder
1/8 tsp Firefly Kitchens Emerald City Salt
1/8 tsp kosher salt
1/16 tsp granulated garlic
1/16 tsp smoked paprika
First you need to pop the corn. Our favorite way is with an air popper, but you can also pop the corn in the microwave with a plain, clean paper grocery bag. Just dump the kernels into the bag, fold the top down and over itself 3 or 4 times, and crease to seal. Microwave on high for 2-4 minutes, removing from the microwave as soon as you can count to 2 between pops. A few of the kernels won’t pop, but that’s ok.
Dump the hot popcorn out into a large bowl and drizzle with melted butter or coconut oil to taste. Toss with the Spooky Salt and enjoy!
