Meet the Small but Mighty Team Behind Your Acme Box - It Takes a Village—Here’s Ours!

At Acme Farms + Kitchen, we believe that fixing our broken food system takes more than just good intentions—it takes people. Real people. People who care deeply about feeding their community well, supporting the hands that grow our food, and showing up every week with heart and hustle. That’s why we’re so excited to introduce you to our all-star team—the ones behind the boxes, the recipes, the deliveries, and the details. These are the faces of Acme.

We’ve heard from some of you who’ve wondered if we’ve gotten big—and while our website might look polished and our food might be beautiful, we’re still a very small team doing this work week after week with love, grit, and care. Every order you place doesn’t just support our business—it supports us, and the farmers, producers, and teammates who make it all happen. We’re proud to still be small, strong, and mighty—and grateful that you’re part of this village that makes it all possible.

🌟 Joy (she/her/hers) — Founder + CEO, 14 years

The most resilient woman you’ll ever meet, and our fearless leader, Joy has been leading the charge for local food since 2011. When she’s not building a better food system—which, let’s be honest, is a 24/7 mission for her—you’ll find her traveling (or dreaming about it), flipping through cookbooks, sipping a margarita with her husband, watching her daughter play soccer, or walking through the woods with her beagle. Her go-to Acme meals? Chicken Satay or Roasted Cauliflower + Chickpea Flatbreads. Her dream kitchen superpower? Skip the powers—just give her a personal chef who cooks with local ingredients every night. If she could have one wish, it would be for people to truly understand the power of food as medicine. Food has the ability to heal, nourish, and sustain—or to slowly make us sick. She believes that taking the time to feed yourself and your family clean, nutrient-rich food is one of the most meaningful investments you can make. We only get one body in this life—and she’s on a mission to help us treat it like it matters. For Joy, supporting local food isn’t a hobby—it’s her life’s mission: to fix a broken food system and build a stronger, healthier one, rooted in trust, transparency, and the flavors growing right in our own neighborhoods.

🎶 Bekah (she/her/hers) — Director of Food + Farm, 8 years

Our in-house food visionary, and sometimes drama queen, Bekah is equal parts heart and hustle. She builds the weekly menu with Chef Andrew, manages products with Taylor, leads our marketing magic and photography, and is on a lifelong mission to help families feed themselves really good food. Her real why? Her three kids. Bekah’s a mom first—fiercely passionate about giving her family food she can trust, and helping other families do the same. You’ll often find her dancing in the kitchen, singing to whatever’s playing, surrounded by the people she loves (and maybe a really good glass of wine). Bekah is passionate about cooking, but would love to snap her fingers and have the dishes cleaned and put away. Her go-to Acme meals? Deconstructed Pot Stickers (a family favorite!) and Pesto Chicken Meatballs with Orzo (life-changing). For Bekah, food is more than fuel—it’s love, it’s connection, and it’s the foundation of a healthier world.

🔪 Andrew (he/him/his) — Head Chef, 11 years

For over a decade, Chef Andrew has been the master maker behind our meals. When you discover a new favorite meal, flavor, or sauce with Acme, you have him to thank! Pulling not only from his years of culinary experience, he also brings a wealth of knowledge from his travels around the world. He is a brilliant writer (English major - who knew?!), crafting all the recipes and their meal descriptions. He’s part chef, part homesteader, part live-music chaser. He raises his own pork, chicken, turkey, and duck, with the help of his little sidekick (his daughter) and yes—he processes it all himself (hardcore!). His favorite Acme dish is the Misoyaki Black Cod, and he believes in food that’s flavorful, seasonal, and connected to the community. If he could fly from the kitchen to the garden and back, he would—because food tastes better when it’s rooted in land, love, and care. For Andrew, supporting local is about flavor, regeneration, and honoring the hands that grow what we eat.

💬 Lucas (he/him/his) — Customer Experience Manager, 5 years

Lucas has changed the customer experience game for us at Acme. His level of care for customers shows in every detail, communication, email, and website fix. He’s also quietly become our go-to tech wizard in a team full of not-so-techy people. (He didn’t plan to be the tech guy, but here we are—and we’re lucky!) Lucas is always the first to jump in and troubleshoot, tweak the site, or help make sure your digital experience runs smoothly. Lucas loves discovering new flavors and has cooked over 500 Acme meals and counting! His top pick? Shakshuka with Feta and Merguez Sausage (though the Lemon Sweet Rolls are legendary in his friend group). When he’s not helping customers with their every need or experimenting in the kitchen, you’ll find him hiking, paddle boarding, or chasing live music across the PNW. His kitchen superpower would be time control—because honestly, there’s never enough time to cook everything. For Lucas, local food is about sustainability, creativity, and keeping flavor (and dollars) where they belong: right here at home.

🌿 Taylor (she/her/hers) — Product Manager, 7 years

Taylor is the one who makes the magic happen behind the scenes. Organizing a database full of every meal kit ingredient, she helps make every moving part click into place. Throughout her years at Acme, Taylor has worked in almost every position in the company. Always willing to step in and help, even when it's outside her comfort zone, Taylor is a true team player! When she’s not riding her bike or cooking for friends (lucky them), she’s making sure the Acme weekly lineup is fresh, local, and totally craveable. Her favorite Acme meal? Ground Beef Bulgogi Bowls!!! (Yes, with all the exclamation points.) She dreams of teleporting to a warm ocean for a morning swim and believes the real joy of this job is packing your boxes with love—yes, even at 5 a.m. Supporting local is personal for Taylor. She sees it as a powerful way to nourish bodies and communities.

🚛 Jon (he/him/his) — Operations Manager, 2.5 years

Jon is the engine behind our operations—always in motion, always solving the next problem before anyone else even spots it. As our Operations Manager, he’s the one making sure your box gets out the door on time and just right, all while keeping the team buzzing and the warehouse humming. One minute he’s on the phone rerouting a delivery, the next he’s fixing the fridge, coaching a new driver, or streamlining a packing workflow. His brain rarely slows down, and neither do his feet. Off the clock, Jon’s usually out adventuring with his sons, One Wheeling, or hanging on the porch (briefly) before chasing the next mountain. His family’s Acme favorites? Salmon Bowls—always—and Chocolate Chip Cookies, which disappear fast. For Jon, supporting local food isn’t just about what’s on the plate—it’s about showing up for your community, building something real, and making sure it all runs like clockwork (with heart).

🍅 Ollie (they/them) — Pack + Purchasing Lead, 3 years

If you’ve ever opened an Acme box and marveled at how perfectly everything is packed, you’ve got Ollie to thank. As our Pack + Purchasing Lead, they keep the wheels turning—sourcing the good stuff, coordinating the chaos, connecting with our farmers, and making sure every ingredient lands exactly where it should. When they’re not at Acme, Ollie’s biking around town, digging in the garden, reading, or on a very serious mission to find the coolest slugs in the PNW. Their favorite Acme meal? Huli Huli Salmon, hands down. If they had a kitchen superpower, it’d be summoning anything at will. Ollie loves supporting local food—for them, it’s about real relationships, delicious ingredients, and keeping our communities strong. Bonus fun fact? They recently won a year’s supply of organic ketchup playing bingo at a food conference. Legends only.

🥄 Joshlyn (she/her/hers) — Prep/Portioning Lead, 2 years

From making sauces to prepping ingredients with fast precision, Joshlyn makes sure every spice blend, bakery mix, and sauce has exactly what it needs—and nothing goes to waste. She is the efficiency queen, and might just be one of the smartest people on our team! With an eventful life that includes time in the Army and a degree from Penn State, she brings focus, adaptability, and quiet determination to our production floor every week. When she’s not at Acme, Joshlyn loves diving into a good book, thrifting for hidden gems, or unwinding with video games. Her favorite Acme treat? The Lemon Poppyseed Loaf—bright, sweet, and just the right kind of comfort. Her dream kitchen superpower? Going full MacGyver when ingredients run low. For Joshlyn, supporting local food means helping local families thrive—whether by sourcing from their farms or making mealtime easier for the ones gathered around the table.

📦 The Warehouse Team — The Magic Makers!

We have a few of missing faces here, but please allow us to introduce to you the small but mighty powerhouse crew that makes the magic of Acme happen week after week! Our Warehouse Team is the heart of operations—receiving the freshest ingredients from local farmers, prepping and organizing every item, and packing each box with care (and serious attention to detail). They work side by side with our chef to create the sauces, spice blends, and finishing touches to every ingredient. From the moment the produce arrives to the second your box lands on your doorstep, this team is behind it all—making sure it’s fresh, correct, and packed with love. They’re early risers, hard workers, and total pros—and we’re so proud to share the faces behind the scenes with you.

We hope seeing the faces behind your Acme box reminds you just how personal this work is for all of us. We’re not a faceless company—we’re your neighbors, your fellow parents, your food lovers, your early risers, your box-packers, your taste-testers, your storytellers. We laugh together, work hard together, and care deeply about what ends up on your table.

Your support means everything to this team. Every order you place helps keep this mission alive—not just for us, but for our farmers, our producers, and the future of local food.

Thanks for being part of this journey with us. We’re honored to be part of your kitchen, your routine, and your community.

With love and gratitude,
The Acme Farms + Kitchen Team
